The ongoing political shake up in the vote rich Ukambani region has dominated the speeches by the region’s elected leaders with the recent being Mwingi Central legislator Hon. Gideon Mutemi Mulyungi who has bitterly attacked the recent attempts by the three Ukambani governors Dr. Alfred Mutua of Machakos, Prof. Kivutha Kibwana of Makueni and Charity Ngilu of Kitui to form a formidable political wing that will aid secure the community’s political say alongside foreseeing it’s readiness in the forthcoming 2022 polls.
Shortly upon the inception of the poverty and hunger fighting idea among other political provisions by the three, sharp divisive cracks emerged within the Wiper Party that enjoys the lions share within Ukambani region from which Makueni Governor serves as the party National Party Chair.Mulyungi further termed the attempt by the three governors unhelpful, inappropriate and only geared towards misleading the community ahead of the major political realignments prior to next national polls.
Earlier yesterday, the former Kathiani MP Hon. Wavinya Ndeti urged the region governors to seek agreeable working platform that would foster suitable political environment with their respective MCAs that would accelerate the fulfillment of their development pledges to their electorates. Ms. Ndeti further affirmed the Senators and the Ward representatives have been constitutionally delegated a duty to oversee the overall utilization of the County Funds by their respective county administrations.
In the same wave, Mavoko lawmaker Hon. Patrick Makau has been on the front line to confirm his willingness and preparedness to take over the Wiper Party leadership upon the oust of the current Chair, Prof. Kivutha Kibwana, if the ongoing party complications persist.
